As part of her contribution towards encouraging the use of industry software among university students, CypherCrescent has donated a set of licenses to the Department of Petroleum and Gas Engineering, Faculty of Engineering. The software is a rare innovation in the oil and gas industry which would further equip the students with the technical ability to draw schematics seamlessly, manage wellbore information and in general greatly improve how well completions is taught in the university.
Receiving members of the team, last Wednesday in his office, Head of Department, Dr Sunday Ikiensikimama, expressed gratitude to CypherCrescent for the kind gesture, promising to deploy the software for proper use amongst staff and students. He also pointed out that gestures like this would make Nigerian graduates more employable.
"I wish it was possible for other indigenous companies with such important works that can lead us to higher values to always make such works available to our staff and students for their personal enrichment. Though we train in character and learning, works like this can contribute to the building of greater values especially amongst the youth. We appreciate this exemplary gesture and we are very grateful to CypherCrescent for this donation. It is our hope that this kindness would also contribute to national integration. I am absolutely sure that this would keep our graduates more ready for post school and industry challenges aside making them more employable" the HOD said.
Dr Ikiensikimama promised to make the application available to members of staff and students as a way of training and preparing them for the challenges in the industry as it forms an essential part of their programme of personal development.
Leader of the team and Business Development Officer of CypherCrescent, Engr. Aniekan Udo, who stood in for the company, said the donation which was in line with the Company's corporate social responsibility policy was aimed at encouraging technology advancement in the academia while stimulating other corporate entities to always give a thought to the society.
